Bay Area Commemorative Mass for Sri Lankan Victims of Easter Sunday Bombings

Jayal Fernando, a Sri Lankan member of St. Lucy’s parish in Campbell in the diocese of San Jose and the Bay Area’s Joseph Naik Vaz Institute, which works to keep alive the heritage and spirituality of seventeenth century St. Joseph Vaz, Apostle and founder of the Sri Lankan Catholic church, request your presence and prayers for the victims of the Easter Sunday bombings in Sri Lanka, and for Peace and healing in Sri Lanka. 

The public of all communities and faiths are invited to this Mass to commemorate all the 259 victims who died and many others who were injured in the bombings in Sri Lanka during Easter Sunday Masses and Christian services as well as in tourist hotels on April 21, 2019.  

This Commemorative Mass will be held at St. Lucy’s Church, 2350 Winchester Blvd., Campbell, CA  95008 at 7:30 p.m. on Friday June 14, 2019.   We attach a Flyer for this Mass and gathering.

The main celebrant will be Fr. Mark Arnzen, Pastor of St. Lucy’s Church.

St. Lucy’s Choir, led by choir director Mary Linduska, will sing at the Mass.

Rev. Kannadeniye Santa of the Sri Lankan Buddhist Dharmapala Institute of the Bay Area will offer a prayer and reflections at the conclusion of Mass.

Mass will be followed by a reception with light refreshments in St. Lucy’s church hall.
