Mangaluru: First day of the three day annual feast of St Joseph Vaz Shrine was celebrated with great devotion here in the Shrine. The inaugural mass was concelebrated by Most Rev. Dr Pius James D’Souza, Bishop of Ajmer along with other priests on December 6, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. In his homily reflecting on the theme “St Joseph Vaz inspiration for Holy life”, Bishop called each and everyone to walk in the steps of St Joseph Vaz and strive for holiness. Moreover, he affirmed that having come to this holy place we must be salt of the earth and light of the world. This day was especially dedicated to all the sick and the suffering. Special prayers were offered for the intentions of the sick people.
Most Rev. Dr Pius James D’Souza honoured the benefactors. Fr Benjamin Pinto, Rector thanked everyone gathered for the Eucharistic celebration. Fr Vijay Machado, Director of Mangala Jyothi compered the entire liturgy meticulously. A large number of faithful participated in the Eucharistic celebration. After the mass, food was served for all the pilgrims.
